Tim Tyler is a professional cinematographer and the owner of Inventive Pictures LLC, a motion picture photography and finishing boutique located in Olympia, WA which focuses on documentary filmmaking and corporate communications in the Seattle area.
Tim has 20 years of experience shooting, including national broadcast programs for PBS, Smithsonian Channel, WNET, CNN, MTV and WGBH, and locally for Microsoft, Russell Investments, EMP/SFM, Amazon, Real Networks and many more.
Tim has shot several award winning projects, including short films for the Seattle International Film Festival. A PBS documentary Tim shot in 2008 for WNET/Thirteen was nominated for a national Emmy award.
In addition to his work as a cinematographer, Tim has contributed as editor and colorist on projects for the WA State Arts Commission, the WA Home Care Quality Authority, Dispute Resolution Center of Thurston County and the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe.
In 1998 Tim created and continues to exclusively manage Cinematography.com, an online educational resource and global community of over 20,000 professional filmmakers and film students who share knowledge and experiences in a members forum.
When he’s not working Tim enjoys live jazz, travelling on two wheels and raising his three sons.
