This short video profile of Washington artists Phil McCracken is one in a series of three produced for the Washington State Arts Commission.
Our small crew spent an enjoyable, inspirational day in July at Mr. McCracken's workshop and home, both on the serene, bucolic island of Guemes, WA.
Phil's large workshop was filled with dozens on tables, each occupied with a cloaked work in progress, or assigned to a specific task and tool set.
There were tools everywhere; thousands of them!
Most of the tables were illuminated by a series of wooden cantilever lamps that he designed and built himself.
